Nellie Carlson Youth Awards
All Youth Award nominees and recipients will be recognized at the Aboriginal Youth Award Ceremony at City Hall on a date to be announced. The Aboriginal Youth Award is meant to recognize the achievements and successes of Aboriginal youth in grades eight (8) to ten (10) who have shown commendable improvement in any of the areas below, and who may have overcome adversity in order to do so. An Aboriginal youth will be considered for the Aboriginal Youth Award who has demonstrated success or achievement in any of the following areas: Leadership, Sports and Recreation, Academics, Volunteerism, Cultural Activities, Dance/Art, Theatre/Music, Environment/Science, and Computer Technology. All nominees must be attending school and reside in Edmonton. A student, teacher, coach, counselor, social worker, or family member can make nominations. Applications for 2007 will be made available shortly.
